Some interesting new poker online news regarding the upcoming World Series of Poker tournament in the casino at Las Vegas: all swearing will be banned. That’s right, no curse words allowed at the WSOP this year, or that player will face an as-of-yet unnamed penalty. The new ruling states the following, “Harrah’s prohibits the use of obscene or foul language in any public area of the casino at any time. Any player who uses such language or makes a foul, profane, obscene or vulgar statement, or speaks abusively or in an intimidating manner to another player, a dealer or a Tournament staff member, will be penalized.” Now, we all know sometime tempers flare up during a heated game of Texas Hold em’, a bad beat gets the best of you and you curse or yell at an opponent. However, one advantage of online poker is that even if you are in a bloody rage no one has to know. You can scream at the computer for several minutes after a bad beat, storm up and down your house or apartment, and then calmly sit down and type “nice hand” or nothing at all. And no one has to be the wiser. And please don’t be that person who types curses and insults at another player in an online poker room. Let’s keep the world a civil place.
