Naveen Jain’s InspirationNaveen Jain was born and raised in Uttar Pradesh, India’s fifth largest state. In their place, illiteracy, primarily among children and women, is widespread. His life story suggests that Naveen Jain’s determination to succeed and attain his goals was a result of exposure to his surroundings. Although his father was a civil engineer, he practiced living a simple and modest life. Encouraged by his goal to become successful, Naveen Jain earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee) in 1979. Three years later, in 1982, he acquired a Masters Degree in Business Administration from XLRI Jamshedpur School of Management.In 1979, he flew to the United States through a business-exchange program. It was in 1989 when he became part of the Microsoft family. Initially, he was part of the MSN Network but later on became the project manager of Microsoft. He was given the chance to work with one of his idols, Bill Gates. He believes in himself and in his capabilities to expand the market of Internet technology and hopes that one day, just like Bill Gates, people will admire him. He is a workaholic and does not even have the chance to travel and have leisure. His drive to work and accomplish his ambitions shows in the number of hours that he spends at work - he does not even play golf during his spare time. His technology, engineering and business-management skills earned him the label being a “valuable player” in this technology-reliant world. To date, he is considered as one of the top entrepreneurial executives in the state. In the year 2000, he had a net worth of $2.2 million and ranked 121st on the list of the 400 Richest Americans.Naveen Jain founded Intelius in January 2003. Intelius is a Bellevue, Washington-based public records company that provides information and offers a wide range of services to its clientele that includes identity theft protection and background checks.
